Craig LaSart was born November 13th, 1969 to Clayton and Deon (Thomas) LaSart of Embarrass, MN, formerly of Crosby, MN. Throughout his life he has been involved with music, his greatest passion. At an early age he was exposed to music via his father. The LaSart annual family reunions typically consist of numerous family members from several generations singing and playing music. Throughout his life Craig has played in several bands, performing genres ranging from classic country to rock. Although Craig has a love of all types of music, the country roots run deep.
As a member of various bands, Craig has opened for some music legends, the likes of which include Moe Bandy, Dave Dudley, Highway 101, and Charlie Daniels. Along with is wife Sandy and his parents, LaSart organized Focus Hope, and later Swamp Fest outdoor music jamborees in Embarrass, MN. He has also recorded CDs with his father and Wagon train, as well as his uncle Jeff. Here I Am is his first solo CD. It was with the support of his loving wife Tammy and three beautiful daughter that Craig was able to juggle a full time job, helping raise his family, and many hard hours in his studio.
