Peach was raised in Anderson, Indiana and grew up listening to Motown as well as such musicians as Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith. By the age of 16, Peach was an accomplished guitarist and toured throughout the Midwest playing at universities and coffee houses. Peach attended music school at the University of Denver where she was the featured vocalist for the university's jazz band. As a voice major, she was accompanied by Condaleezza Rice, President Bush's National Security Advisor appointee. (Too bad, Condi was a darn good piano player!)
Peach moved to San Francisco in the early 70's where she performed with numeous jazz artists including Smith Dobson, Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets), Davis Ramey (George Shearing), Jim Nichols (Robben Ford), The Max Borjon Orchestra (big band tour - 2 years), and Mary Ann Price (Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks).
Peach also played in many funk, jazz and top 40 bands during those years but particularly enjoyed fronting her own group with legendary San Francisco saxophonist Mary Fettig Park (Flora Purim). Peach played regularly at the Hyatt Union Square (blues and jazz standards). In 1976 Peach toured Japan as a solo jazz artist. Returning to the States, she played for awhile with Jim Messina of Loggins and Messina.
With a bit of a dramatic edge to her voice, Peach sings of relationships that work out and those that don't. With a sultry tenor sax and a tight band, Peach sings of the trouble she's seen.
Peach has a golden voice reminiscent of Maria Maldaur and Bonnie Raitt, a truly gifted artist not only as a composer and arranger, but a solid vocalist.
