Snowy River is two committed musicians - Dale Blatter and Jeffry Menten. Snowy River's Dale Blatter was born in Bemidji, Minnesota and raised on a farm with 3 brothers. At a young age he began playing music with his family for family entertainment. He studied with fine a musician and teacher named Warren Kofvold for several years. Dale learned Accordion, Guitar, Steel Guitar and Piano during that time. He managed a music school for 12 years in Washington.

Snowy River's Jeffry Menten grew up in Mankato, Minnesota where he was encouraged by his father to start violin lessons at an early age. His first teacher Eugene Vusich, later became a member of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. Jeffry furthered his studies on violin with Marilyn Bos and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance at MSA in Southern Minnesota. Mr. Menten has performed as a member of several symphonies and played professionally with Mariachi Estrella in Austin Texas during the 1980s. Jeffry has performed Texas Swing with members of Asleep At the Wheel and The Ace In the Hole Band.

Dale and Jeffry Co-own and operate Northwoods School of Music in 6 counties throughout Northern Minnesota.

New member Bob Wynkoop was raised in Shevlin, west of Bemidji. Bob's father encouraged his sons to play musical instruments. The boys formed the Wynkoop Bros.' Band and entertained throughout north central Minnesota in the 1970's and 1980's. Bon studied architecture during his college years and has also become a prolific composer and lyricist. he is a highly accomplished lead guitarist and bass player, excelling in many styles of music.
