Virginia Minnesota resident Sue Spaeth has played in Iron Range local bands, including Interlude, Wild Angels and Third Rail, but it's this, her CD, that is making a name for Sue. The CD features "Midnight Rain", a song dedicated to and written about the employees of the soon-to-close LTV Steel in Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota. According to Spaeth, the words came to her in her sleep, and it took her just two hours the song was completed. The words of "Midnight Rain" represent steelworkers she knows who may lose their jobs. The song also looks to options the workers may have to take, including jobs away from home.
Sue Spaeth will be donating a portion of the profits from the two-song CD to the Gilbert food shelf.
