Vicki LoganVicki Logan was raised in the small town of Rapid River, Michigan. Her first real exposure to music was in the 6th grade when she was introduced to band class. Vicki chose to play the flute. She loved music and from that point on, she was hooked. She hoped to attend college after high school and have a career in music, but that just didn't happen. Because the opportunities weren't available, Vicki logan spent the next few years trying to find out what she truly wanted out of life. She married and had a son, but the marriage didn't work out and she found herself as a single parent. Responsibilities calling, Vicki packed up and attended Northern Michigan University. She graduated in 1994 with a degree in Graphic Communications. The whole time she was in college, Vicki Logan found herself in the practice rooms playing the baby grand pianos and listening to the music majors practice their music, all the while dreaming about the possibility of someday doing the same. The thought seemed somewhat hopeless since she couldn't read sheet music and didn't know anything about playing the piano, except to plunk out melodies she had in her head.

After graduation, Vicki moved to Chicago to work as a graphic designer for the National College of Chiropractic. She put a personal ad into the newspaper to make some friends and met her future husband, Carl. Carl introduced Vicki to Folk Era Records and she began freelancing graphics for them. She learned a ton about the business of music and became friends with the staff. She got to meet many of the performers and became good friends Holly Yarbrough and her father Glenn. Several of the people at Folk Era got to hear some of Vicki's cassette recordings of the "tinkerings" she kept from college. She received some VERY nice comments, which got Carl thinking.

After Carl and Vicki were married, they moved to Minnesota. Vicki became pregnant with her daughter, and, dealing with nasty pregnancy and her son becoming interested in sports, Carl bought a keyboard for Vicki so that she could relax some. He also borrowed a copy of Cakewalk and started Vicki down the road of recording her music and buring it to CD. That was all it took.
