The Sageman "Lion of Judah" Djembe drum exemplifies their passion for building unique, world-class drums. These musician quality Djembes feature the emblem of Ethiopian emperor Ras Tafari – otherwise known as Haile Selassie. Key features include: exotic deep carving, hand painted gold trim and colored African tassel. All Sageman drums start with a handpicked piece of solid mahogany. The shell is precision lathe cut and then hand carved. Traditionally skinned, this drum creates an old world sound that is natural, warm and full-bodied, a sound that synthetic heads can’t produce. You won’t find another drum design like this anywhere in the world. Please allow for variations in carving style and rope color as all Sageman Djembes are made by hand and vary slightly from one drum to the next.
