quintet: 1. A group containing five solo musicians. 2. A group of five jazz musicians usually with two palying a guitar, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, flute or trombone in addition to the traditional jazz trio of piano, double bass or electric bass, and drums. 3. A work for five independent parts/players.
