Top 100 Hits of 1991/Top 100 Songs of 1991

Billboard Year-End Hot 100 chart for 1991 - the best-performing singles in the United States in 1991. As of November 30th, 1991, Billboard began using Nielsen SoundScan data which provided actual sales figures instead of relying on ranked playlists sent in by retailers and Nielsen BDS data to gauge the actual audience impression a song receives instead of relying on ranked playlists sent in by radio stations. At the time of inclusion, SoundScan only tracked 55% of all retail sales; Nielsen had used estimates to fill in the gaps. See A Guide to the Billboard Hot 100 for more detailed information. Artists appearing on the chart include Damn Yankees, Color Me Badd, Extreme, Madonna, Roxette, Lenny Kravitz, Rod Stewart, Styx, Bryan Adams, Amy Grant, Wilson Phillips, R.E.M., DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, and more.
